Are you a goth/vampire/psychobilly/alternative or all of the above? Do you have a unique and fascinating look? Have you always wanted to become a model but you’re just not interested in the standard SL fashion look? Now’s your chance for those of you that live outside the fashion industry’s norm! Rezzable is searching for the best male and female model to become the Faces of the Darklands.
Judges Voshie Paine, hyasynth Tiramisu, Kylie Gears, Hart Larsson and JennyH Gossipgirl will narrow the field of contestants to 16 finalists. Ultimately, one male and one female winner will be chosen to be the Faces of the Darkland Sims. (more…)

Ewing Fashion Agency and OnRez Launch Fashion Design Awards in Second Life
Second Life, November 19, 2007: Today Ewing Fashion Agency (”EFA”) and OnRez announced the creation of the Ewing Design Awards in Second Life. With the Ewing Design Awards, EFA and OnRez are creating a global online contest that will unite the entire Second Life community in a celebration of the best that Second Life fashion has to offer.
Ewing Fashion Agency Chief Executive Officer Una Ewing said, “The Ewing Fashion Agency (EFA) has been in operation for five months and in that time, we have witnessed numerous contests and competitions geared towards models, but never anything concrete for the people who actually toil and sweat to create the beautiful fashions that we enjoy wearing. We have launched a competiton for all fashion designers and budding fashion designers to design an item of clothing for the World Society for the Protection of Animals.
The clothing should contain some sort of reference to the charity, whether it be the charity’s logo or simply an animal–feel free to use your imagination! The more creative the better!
We are offering a 50,000L$ prize to the best design entrant.

SL’s first award for new designers of men’s clothes
Today Second Guy Clothiers announces the Ballini Award, which will recognize new designers of quality men’s clothes. Four awards will be given in the areas of Business, Casual, Athletic, and Rebel Cool. The winner in each category will receive a cash award of L$10,000, a 1/4 page ad in Second Style Magazine (value L$3000) and one month of free retail space at Second Guy Clothiers including promotion.
Judging will be done by a distinguished panel in the world of men’s fashion: Ryan Darragh of Men’s Second Style, Swaffette Firefly of SF Design, Jesseaitui Petion of Aitui, and Ben Vanguard of SLMen.com. “Second Guy was founded on the principle of quality clothing for men and we are excited to help bring the best new talent in that area to public attention,” said Balthazar Balhaus of the Ballini Suite.
