Army Tank Boy by June Dion @ Bare Rose

Camo_Review_SMALLER.JPGHello all, my name is Daman Tenk, and this will be my first Second Life fashion review. As my first review pick I chose a set called Army Tank Boy, by June Dion of Bare Rose. Just in case you never heard of it before, Bare Rose is a store that offers clothing for both men and women, divided in many categories. Most outfits are for sale at very reasonable prices, especially considering the quality of June’s work.

This outfit is available in the men’s casual section for 130 L$ and comes with pants, skirt layer belts, three jacket layer tank tops, one shirt layer tank top, several prim pockets, and a bullet necklace for the finishing touch. The outfit is set as modify/no copy/transfer.

The fabric textures of the tank tops and the pants have a slightly grainy look, which in my opinion makes them appear closer to life-like heavy duty fabric. The camo pattern on the pants seems pretty well done also. I like how she used bigger spots than most Second Life camo outfits. I don’t exactly enjoy the stretching on the skirt layer, but overall this doesn’t detract from the quality of the outfit.

Daman_Camo_SMALLER.JPGThe prim parts on the pants require minimum adjustment to fit nearly any human shape due to their construction. The straps you can see on the side pockets are flexi, and have very nice settings in my opinion. They don’t flip around as loosely as what I’m used to from clothing in Second Life, but this fits my real life experiences with heavy duty military fabrics. After all I can’t imagine these pants being made from silk.

In the second picture I tucked up the pants so they’d go better with my Sparrow black boots from Brogear and removed the skirt layer. The gloves I’m wearing in the pictures are the Shadow Godfists from GearShift.

If you ever wish to dress up as an army lad, I believe you’ll be hard pressed to find a better outfit in this price range.

The outfit can be found in the men’s department of Bare Rose Tokyo.

Great blog Daman. I am female but I read the guys blogs because sometimes there is gear here that I like to wear also.
Bare Rose is top of my pops list for clothes of all kinds, but your blog has shown a nice blend of several styles. I look forward to seeing more of your contributions.
    Best wishes .. Blade

Welcome Daman, and it’s great to see a contributor who seems to mirror my own tastes in clothes from the list of influences you gave.

Too many casual preppy clothes in SL (not that there is anything wrong with that) but I prefer the more… ummm… Hmm what is the style called? Emo/Neko/Yaoi Seme/Post Appocolyptic/Urban/Grunge

    Beats me ;)

Bare@Rose is a cool place, so cheap and the clothing is excellent.

I hate Bare @ Rose…their stuff is so inexpensive for the quality that I end up walking out of there down L$1k every time. :-)

Ok ok so you do get a lot of stuff, but still. It’s like walking into a Target. You just can’t walk out without buying one or two things. And yes I did walk out with this and about 4 other things. I wanted more, but I exerted some self control.

    Welcome to the Blogosphere Daman.

LOL. I know the feeling, Oscar. The same thing always happens to me in stores like this.

And thanks for the welcome, I’ve blogged before, and still run my own blog also. But this is the first time I write for a place as big as this ^-^
