A sweater a day [iv] : Hell Bop
I know what you’re thinking—Christmas is over. It’s true, December 25 has come and gone. But there are, after all, twelve days of Christmas, and I like to make the most of it. Only just today is it Twelfth Night, the Feast of the Epiphany, and I’m still listening to holiday music at home, although I’ve moved on almost exclusively to instrumental recordings. I kind of can’t stand it that the Christmas decorations are out for sale before Halloween, but I do like to let the season wind down gracefully and naturally across all twelve days.
And although Christmas may be (just about) over, Winter is nowhere near done. Although where I live in RL it doesn’t get cold enough, often enough, for me to need a heavy coat all Winter, I do a lot of layering. I can never have enough sweaters. I’m pretty sure you can’t, either. But don’t worry—I’m here to help. And so is Floatie Hock, designer of the beautiful cardigan I’m wearing here.
Floatie’s “Harrison” sweater is a close cousin to Guapo Handsome’s College Bound Cardigan, and that is most definitely a compliment. The design is simple and classic, with closely woven solid-color fabric set off by wide, bright white edging. Careful texture shading makes the large but not oversize buttons look like they’re pulling the fabric realistically. The jacket-layer cardigan is enhanced by sculptie pushed-up sleeves. Pretty much perfect for your mid-century Christmas or general retro winter wear. Choose from six colors, L$95 each at Hell Bop (The Wash 92, 75, 22).
While you’re there, think twice before teleporting away without a pair of Floatie’s super-spiff Flames wingtips. Their high-gloss finish plays up the high-contrast design of stylized flames. They’re resize scripted, but they don’t remain properly centered on your foot as you resize (possibly something funky with the root prim). It’s easy enough to reposition them. L$195.
Gear yourself up for the twice-yearly Cart Sale at The Wash, coming up February 22 through March 14!
